According to the historical documents we found, Sam Ka Tsuen was made up of three former surnames consisting of Zhang, Liu and Lian or Wen, Liu, and Chen (another version). Lei Yue Mun, which is nearby Sam Ka Tsuen, was full of stone of good quality. Therefore, villagers in Sam Ka Tsuen have mostly lived by mining for decades. However, all the quarries were completely shut down by the Hong Kong government in 1960s. After that, Sam Ka Tsuen had been transferred into an attraction famous for delicious seafood and photography. Nowadays, Sam Ka Tsuen is a famous tourists spot recommended by Hong Kong Tourism Board, which is special for its own history and splendid natural landscape.
